Hurricane Cimafunk hit the United States of America

Date: 2019-08-29 17:12:22

After his successful presentation at the Summer Stage of Central Park in New York, the Cuban musician Cimafunk moved the nights of the Blue Note, another dream he managed to realize in La Gran Manzana.

He provided his 'funky cimarrón' in that club that is part of the history of jazz in the United States of America. That place has been great as Ray Charles, "for me it is tremendous to play there, it is a super emblematic place of all music in New York," the artist confessed to Prensa Latina.

This young revelation of Cuban music was concerned about the challenge of the Blue Note, but sold out tickets and the euphoria of people every night surely calmed their fears.

Cimafunk conquered the public in Central Park with songs from his debut album Therapy and advances on several topics on which he now works, as an experiment, to have fun and see what people like, he said.

After these presentations in New York, Cimafunk will be in the United Kingdom and Spain, in the latter country he will perform at a festival in Barcelona where Herbie Hancock and other artists he admires will also participate. "Luckily I'll be there," he said.

In these moments I would like to continue playing wherever there are people who want to listen to me, he revealed.

The same in Cuba, as in any other country, I like to see how people react to the songs to know if I'm doing well, said the singer who managed to sneak into the international stages after becoming a musical phenomenon on his island.

In fact, last January, Cimafunk was one of the Latin artists that the American entertainment magazine Billboard recommended listening to this 2019. Just in March, he toured several cities in the United States, including New York, and received praise from specialized publications, in addition to public favor.

Cimafunk debuted in the United States at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, where he attracted interest from important names in the music industry.

The tour, organized by American businessman Collin Laverty, who drives actions in favor of trade and investment between the United States and Cuba, included stops in Washington, New York, New Orleans, Chicago, Asheville, Nashville, Charleston, Atlanta, Miami, Providence, Hartford, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
