
The XXXIII International Choir Festival will be dedicated to the memory of Electo Silva, founder of the event and one of the most recognized Cuban teachers. The event will take place in Santiago de Cuba between October 28 and November 3.
Groups of the United States (Anna Crusis), France (Opus de Sant Ouen), Mexico (Branshala, Singing Children of Tijuana and Esperanza Azteca), Guadalupe (Sainte Bernardette), Diminican Republic (Mater Dei) and Scotland (Soubdhouse) confirmed their participation. The National Choir of Cuba is the main figure of this event, which is directed by the teacher Digna Guerra.
A very special moment will be a meeting the first day of November with children from Mexico, Cuba and South Africa, to celebrate the 91st birthday of Electo Silva with the performance of a cantata. From South Africa we can enjoy The Peace Train choir, directed by Sharon Katz, which had its origin in the struggles against the apartheid regime.
Cuba will show the breadth and depth of its choral movement from the presentations of D 'Profundis, Vocal Leo, Choir of Matanzas Chamber, Corávila, Vocal Musas, Isla Femenim, Chamber Choir of the National School of Art, Canticus Novus, Audinos, Camagüey Choir, Guantanamo Male Choir, Holguin Orfeón, Madrigalista, Aúrea Music, Sirena, Monteverdi de Cienfuegos, Santiago University Choir, Etecsa de Havana and Santiago choirs, Loyola Choir and Pinar del Río Professional.
The choral presentations will be held at Dolores room, the Esteban Salas conservatory, the French Alliance, the choir headquarters in the territory, as well as in squares, communities, schools and work centers.
