The Cacahual is a place that keeps the remains of Antonio Maceo and his assistant, the Captain Francisco Gómez Toro, as well as other Cuban patriots. At the beginning of the last century, a monument was built here, which was receiving transformations until it had its current restoration. Due to its historical significance, theCacahual was granted the status of a National Monument on October 10th, 1978.The Cacahual is located on Independencia Avenue, in Santiago de las Vegas, Boyeros Municipality.
