Omara has become a living legend of Cuban rich musical scene, since she stepped on stage as member of the famous quartet “Las D’ Aida.” Her lengthy and fruitful career made her worldwide famous as a soloist of the famed orchestra “Buena Vista Social Club.”

After the breakup of that band, Portuondo challenges her 87 years of age with an exquisitely wide vocal range that arouses admiration and respect for the remarkable ambassadress of Cuban music and culture.
